I had a very real dream about a month ago about the end of the world and i remember hearing the date 2012. I was looking on yahoo answers and saw the date 2012 so i looked at this persons question and that this is a actually date that some say the end of the world is suppose to happen. Now i am freaked out because i never new about this till today. In my dream there was flooding and wars and fire. god and jesus are in my dreams also I have these dreams a lot , but this date i have seen it once.
Does anyone know about dreams and what they really mean? maybe im just over reacting.

I never knew anything about this aztec calender but i am sure people wont believe when i say that anyway.
I also had dreams of plane crashes, LOTS of very real war dreams ,i woke up crying and very scared.
I can tell if something bad is going to happen to me most of the time , like a deer is about it hit my car so i will slow down and there will be deer up ahead.
its not like i want this to happen. I just remember seeing war, flooding and fire and a voice that said 2012. I guess a dream is a dream and really means nothing.

Hello;
I would not pay too much attention to either one. This may help. " ....neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed." Jeremiah 29:8. When we sleep our minds wander. We lose contact with reality. Things of the past, present and future present themselves in varied forms. If we watch say a horror movie before we go to sleep. Odds are that some part of that movie will present itself during our dreams. If we are stressed out, or say dealing with the death of someone. Again, our minds will conjure up and even invent many different thoughts. We sometimes have dreams about things that have no meaning whatsoever. Sometimes they have partial truth mixed in with other thoughts. It happens to us all. Some more than others. Like my brother veterans and I.
Unless the dream repeats over and over with the same message or vision, do not pay attention to it. It is not practical to interpret dreams. Too many variables are involved.
As to the 2012 date. That is from the book about the Mayan prophecies. Many throughout the ages have been involved with prophecies. Nostradamus for example. Edgar Cayce is another. They see only in part. As for Nostradamus, he used divination, star charts, mild narcotics and arcane and questionable sources.
He was about 70% accurate. Good but not perfect.
What you should pay attention to is the sayings of Jesus Christ. Here are a few examples. " And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of war: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." Here is the key. " And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
Gospel fo Matthew, chapter 24,vss. 6,11,14.
As of this moment, the gospel has NOT be preached in all the world. When Jesus comes, EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE WORLD WILL SEE HIM.
Do not be overly concerned. In the year 999AD. All of the then know world was occupied about the coming year. Thinking that the end would come. they sold their property, stopped working and waited, and waited. We are still here!
Know without a doubt, that the world will NEVER again be destroyed by water. " While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." Genesis 8:22. " And I will establish my covenant with you: neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations. I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth." Genesis 9:11-13. Again. " And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth." Gen. 9:16.
That is the rainbow!
God NEVER breaks promises or covenants. Put out of your mind any fear of another worldwide flood.
Keep these words always in your mind and heart. " Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

Dec. 23, 2012 is actually the date of the end of the 5th World Age, according to Mayans; which doesn't mean that the world's gonna end, it just means that the Earth will be devastated by all sorts of natural disasters (such as tzunamies, floods, earthquakes, eruptions etc etc...), most of its population will perish and then, at the end of the devastation, a new world order will take over, just like it happened in the past at the end of each World Age (the Great Flood for instance marked one of those ends). The reason of the upcoming natural distasters will be the 'passage' of the 10th planet, the one Sumerians were calling Nibiru, which has a circuit of 3661 years around the Sun, and whenever it approaches our planet causes great disasters.

Oh well if you dreamed it I'm sure that's when it will end... jeez. These people...
Do you believe everything you hear? How about if I say the world will end in 2007 - now you should be REALLY freaked out.
Look it was an ancient south American prophesy, I think its Mayan - anyway they sacrificed lots of people every year since they believed if they didn't the sun wouldn't come up and the universe would come to an end. Let's take it with a pinch of salt, shall we?

I believe that dreams may have some significance. I'm not sure about yours because I don't know you...however, I believe it is possible. No one knows the exact hour or day, but we do know that we are in the end times because of the signs given in the bible. Even the scientists have moved the doomsday clock up two minutes, so in this regard scientists and religionists both agree. The world is on its way to destruction.....

I had a dream that there were hook-handed zombies chasing my friends & family around in my Aunt's house, and we escaped by going onto the roof, and then becoming squirrels, and then paragliding. It was awesome. The dream meant that I had watched a video on sloths, it is close to halloween, I talked to my mom on the phone and she mentioned that my aunt was visiting, and I like squirrels. Your dream is an expression of your subconscious and a conglomeration of experiences from the previous day.

wow, amazing.
Here's something to think about. Have you had many dreams (prophetic) that have come true? Then you could assume this could be from God.
I know God has given me prophetic dreams in the past, not much anymore but I do believe it can happen. I'm also not sure why he would tell YOU. Why you?
So maybe yes, maybe no.
I wish you would e-mail me with more info! I'd love to hear more of your dream.

You knew about it, you just didn't remember. Ain't the human brain grand? 2012 is simply the end of AN AGE on the Mayan calendar. It's not even the end of the calendar. There's nothing significant about the year aside from a coincidence of ancient mathematics.
Edit: Don't give a crap about the aztec calendar, but you *had* heard about the mayan one. You might still not remember that you did, but you did.

A very real dream is a contradiction in terms. The dream may have seemed real to you, but it remains a dream.
The end of the world has been predicted on a regular basis for thousands of years. I set no store by such predictions.
The end of the world is also none of my business. What does the end of the world mean to me?
