okay apparently you miss the point. all of you huff and puff about illegal immigration yet you miss the understanding as to why they do it. They do cause they can't afford to do it the legal way, therefore raising the fees will only increase the problem.

and for others who seem to think i support illegal immigration, you are sadly mistaken. i support family unity and nothing more.

Neither, enforce the existing laws like the good folks of Costa Mesa, Ca... As of this morning another 30 arrests of illegals. Gotta luv the mayor there.

It is very funny how a woman that supports illegal immigration and finds nothing wrong with it can suddenly bail and tune out further confrontations, become irate and throw personal attacks when she feels her dignity and political stance is threatened by facts and realism. Yes that is very mature and shows your passion and zealous for what you believe in your heart is right. I sense a little ambiguity if you ask me. Moreover you decided to change your name. Smart.

No I do not think raising filing fees will help, though this is what happens when we have Jose and Pedro hiding in boxes and sneaking through the borders without filing the proper documentation. Raising the filing fee is nothing more than price inflation or gauging. When a person steals from a store, the owners have to compensate for that loss by raising the price. This is typical in the business world so with the hundreds entering everyday illegally, I would expect some price inflation due.

I would think it would encourage illegal immigration. If people come to our countries to work, they probably have few financial resources. Why would we want to make it harder to comply with the law than to avoid it? Higher filing fees does exactly that. It only hurts the people who can least afford it.

wouldn't make a difference - they sponge so much off the taxpayer now that it would be like using an eyedropper to put out a fire - no effect since they will keep coming illegally and an increase in fees mean nothing

Of course raising filing fees will exacerbate the problem. They will just use it as another excuse to break our laws.

That just proves my point. I have always said it is impossible for most people to immigrate legally. You FORCE us to come illegally.

That is obscene! Leave it to Bush!

He certainly likes illegals, doesn't he? Once they become citizens then they might have to start paying them!
