I know I can see a chiropractor but I'd prefer to see if some sort of streches or anything can help resolve the problem first. If you have any advice on any meds that will relax the muscles please advise. If you know of any good streches also please advise. I messed my back on when I was moving a tv with someone else. I guess I was using my back instead of my legs :( Any advice would help, thanks

Do not stretch. With the back you don't want to work the injured muscles at all. Give it a break, baby it and wait. If the injury is just a pull it should take a week or two to clear if you baby it. Hot shower concentrated on the area and gentle massage is good too. However, if you have seriously injured your back you should seek a medical consultation.

I used to have back problems till I had surgery. I would take 4 over the counter Ibuprofen three times a day with food. Each tablet is 200 mg. highest dose you can get thru a prescription is 800mg. This will help with the pain and also reduce the swelling. Do NOT put any strain on your back. No lifting more than 5 lbs. No stretching. When climbing out of bed, do what they call the log roll. which means knees together roll on your side, then put the legs over the bed and get up that way. You can also use the heat and ice. If you have a jacuzzi , that will be a good way to relax the muscles.. These were all things my doctor had me do. Good luck. If not better in a week. contact your doctor

The back has so many nerves connected to it that go to the rest of the body that unless you have had this problem before, it is better to have a specialist look at it. Instead of stretching while you are in pain, try to do whatever you can do to relax...use hot and cold packs alternatively to get blood circulating into the area which will relieve pain. Put heat on it for about 20 minutes and then put an ice pack on it for about 20 minutes. Do this as often as you can during the day. If you can stand it, you can also stand in the shower and run very hot water over the pain area and then switch to very cold water...this can be very extreme, so do so carefully so as not to tense your muscles any more.

The best place to go for back pain is a NAPROPATH...spelled with a P and not to be confused with a Natropath. Napropathy is actually a more skilled version of Chiropractic. They are coverd by insurance just like chiropractic is. Chiropractic can cause more pain by pushing on bones and twisting and cracking the neck. A Napropath is very gentle, and concentrates on relaxing an releasing the muscles and then, if a vertebra is out of place, it will gently slip into place. Whereas with a Chiropractor it is the other way around...they force the bones into place and expect with time and repeated treatments, the muscles will relax.

I went to 3 different chiropractors in 2 years (all highly recommended) for a back pain...a pinching pain that effected my walking. It eventually turned into a bigger problem because my body started compensating to help relieve the pain. A friend told me to switch to a Napropath, and I finally did, reluctantly however, because I had never heard of one.

Well, I explained my problem to the Napropath, but never told him about the pinching because the rest of my pain was so great, that I had forgotten about it. During the first treatment he discovered the pinching area in my back, very carefully he released that muscle that was causing the pinching and to my surprise, it released the rest of the pain. The pain has never returned.

Napropaths are not as well known as Chiropractic because, frankly, the association that they belong to has done a very poor job of getting the message out, but if you go to one, and have ever been to a Chiropractor as well, you will never, ever go back to a Chiropractor... the treatment is just that far superior to that of a Chiropractor.

The only over the counter medication I can think of is Tylenol for Arthitis, as it is stronger and designed to work the muscles.

One thing I do when my back hurts is sit on the couch and crouch my back as hard as I can into the back of it, stretching the spine, or you may do the same thing laying on the rug and press your lower back into it.
Now, if you apply cold compresses to where it hurts to bring the swelling down, then hot to relax the muscles, it also will help, or a heating pad, but always use the cold first as there probably is swelling inside.

the only possibility to a television whilst shifting around is putting too plenty tension on specific factors. make useful the comprehensive front part of the television is freed from tension whilst wearing or shifting it, and there is not any harm to the television set. The act of shifting it around in itself won't reason any harm to your television as long as you do no longer squash the reveal :)
