My 10 year old sister only recently got over this dry cough and sore throat...the doctor gave her this potent narcotic cough syrup and said she should take it until she feels better...but 2 days after my mom filled the prescription, it was empty. My mom is a severe drug addict and I know that she drank it all, but she won't admit it...even though when my sister asked her what happened to it, she said "i might have taken a swig of it". Anyway, my sister was still sick and so my mom went out and got another bottle for her..same thing, 3 days later it was empty. This has happened several times with my mother. After I had my wisdom teeth out, my mom took all of my tylenol 3s and percocets that my dentist prescribed me, and wouldn't admitt to it or even bother to try and get me more after I developed dry socket, so I basicly was put through hell for a week because of her. Is there a name for parents who do this? What do I do?

Parents like that honestly need to be shot. I dont wanna sound crude and rude but seriously you need to take your mother out back and give her a nice good *** whippin' anyway thats what I think or another thing you can do Is contact the local authorities and inform them on whats going on. Also Talk with your Family Health Providers, Inform them on whats going on have them write the script either in the Fathers name or a responsible adult I had a friend that was going through the same thing with his mom and we ended up putting her in jail because she stole his T3's after he had knee surgery and was selling them. I also had this problem with my older & dumber sister. Jus refuse to give her the bottle dont let her push you around even though she is your mother.

You mother has serious problem with addiction. you need to let your close family members know such as grandma, aunt, anybvody.
Secondly are you responsible enough to administer the medicinces yourself, if so take charge.
Next tell your doctor, Child protective services or even the police.

One of you could get hurt or even your mother, from the misuse of pills, or get more sick.

I am sorry to hear that you and your sister is going thru this. The only thing that you can do is see if your family members can get into a Drug rehab. When you have to get medicine again I would hide it somewhere where she won't be able to find it.

yeah there is a name for her.... but since she is your mom I will not say it (out of respect for you)
she has a severe problem it seems and needs some type of help...and you owe it to yourself and your little sister to make sure she gets some...report this to your teacher, school conselor, police, or call social services (in your area).it's just not right and the two of you deserve better than that!

take the medicine and hide it yourself. have a family intervention and send her to rehab. if you're going to make an omellet, you need to break a few eggs, so be a good daughter and get her help.
