I recently had a baby 2 months ago and I was given pilates dvds. I was wondering if pilates really work and if so how long does it take?

It depends on what you mean by "work". I'm assuming you mean lose weight, and in that case no. You have to burn calories to lose weight and the best way to go about that is cardio, ie. running, elliptical, ect. The purpose of pilates is to strengthen your "support" muscles, your lower back and stomach, and it makes you feel stronger and more stable for other activities. But overall it won't do much but develop small muscles that you won't be able to see until you lose the weight.

Yes! It all depends on how often and how long you do it for to see results, but you will notice a difference in 2-3 weeks and from there the results will continue to grow!
