she is getting more nervous, shaking, hiding under the bed, in the closet, sluken. I am wondering if I could feed her a more balanced diet (she is a picky eater) and if that would help. Is it hormones. She has gone into heat 3 times and isn't due again until May

Could also be some of the signs of a false pregnancy. Its not life-threatening, but does imply something is wrong with the female hormones. It is another problem that is solved by simply spaying her.

Spaying will certainly be a great idea for this dog. But it sounds like there are other issues happening - do you know of anyone in your household who may be mistreating her? She may be in discomfort - if she's in pain from something, this will affect her behavior. Please take her to a vet, and find out if there's anything else going on at your house regarding the dog.

Sounds like what I'm doing...I'm going through menopause :) Only difference is that I'm not picky about what I eat unfortunately... Seriously though, sounds like you need to take her to the vet.

Get her spayed, hon. There are low cost spay clinics in every town... the best and kindest thing you will ever do for this animal if you love her...........
