well how old are you.
if your 15 you might be able to get a job at the grocery store or you can have car washes when it gets warmer.
if you are 16 they might have some nice jobs at malls and you can see if you can get the word out about you and babysitting like maybe put flyers in your subdivision
if your older than 17 then you might beable to get any job
if you are younger than 15 then that will be hard. umm... i think you can sell some candy. we had a trip to go to nyc and we sold candy. you can ask your school if they provide anything for you to sell then that would be great. people in my neighborhood pet sit too. that sounds a little cheesy though or car washes.
this is a hard one. hope you get to go! : )

Hi NYpc - that is a sensible outlook from you, and you deserve a valuable answer. When I was at college, I could not find money to pay for a lot of things, and my dear old mom came up with the answer SHE had learnt from HER mom - so the history of success, and making money using this route, go back a LONG way! You need to start making fudge - and then taking it to the local shops and ask them to put it at the payout tills - I also went door-to-door with a FULL basket, but I am not sure how safe it is where you live. Here is the recipe...and GOOD luck - my heart is with you, 'cos I went through the same experience, and believe me, it WORKS! 1) Place sugar and water into a heavy saucepan. Stir over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. 2) Add the syrup and butter, stir till butter has melted. 3) Add the condensed Milk and stir until the mixture comes to the boil. boil slowly, dtirring all the time, until the soft ball stage is reached- +- 25minutes. (Place a drop of the mixture into a glass of water and it should form a soft ball when rolled between your fingers.) 4) Remove from the heat, add vanilla abd beat mixture with a wooden spoon untill it begins to thicken. Pour into a greased 18x28 cm pan and leave to

Honey welcome to the real world.
If you are old enough get a job (over 14) then do so. If you work on weekends and breaks between now and June you should be able to come up with enough; not to mention if you show the responsibility to do this yourself, your parents may be willing to help out. Babysitting is good but it isn't real reliable work.
Good luck a trip to DC is a good experience for anyone. Have fun at the Smithsonian and the Zoo.
