It sounds like we have a confusion of terms, at least coming from a Roman Catholic liturgist's point of view.

Easter Vigil is the liturgical celebration that begins sometime after sunset on Holy Saturday and ends sometime before sunrise Easter Sunday morning.

Triduum is the celebration that begins with mass on Holy Thursday night and ends with the end of Easter Vigil service. It does cover the span of three days.

If you can give me a little more information on your denomination, I might be able to help you with some thoughts. It sounds like a wonderful idea.

Start with stories about the Easter Bunny. Ask the kids about the Easter Bunny and stories about the Easter bunny they've heard from others. Compare the stories. Then bring out a real bunny and show the kids. You can then explain the difference between the Easter Bunny and a real bunny. They'll soon learn to differentiate between myth and reaility.

Now, you can explain the Christian story about Jesus dying then flying up to Heaven. Bring a real person out and have the kids explain the difference between the flying Jesus and a real person. Soon they'll be able to work out that the Bible is myth.

Have you considered a passover seder? you can get more info from your local jewish community--maybe even a rabbi to lead it. This would also be a good time to plan and organize a skit for Easter morning--lots of resources out there for dramas

maybe decorate an area as the tomb of jesus...

have some students be the soldiers guarding the tomb...

others be disciples who are in hiding but slowly come out to visit the grave...

have everyone discussing their thoughts about what happened and what it means to them

have "jesus" busy commneting on his death and ressurection..
