I have been dating my boyfriend for five months now. We have talked about sex several times. Honestly. I am afraid. I want to but It is both of our first times. My biggest fear is pain.. does it hurt all that bad?

Mine did not hurt hardly at all, but then the guy was like older and knew what he was doing, and lots of foreplay and stuff raises the pain threshold anyway. It's normal to be nervous of course, but I would not let fear of the short little pain stop you. And both being virgins as long as you're on birth control no need for a condom! Just don't expect it to be "wonderful" since he is inexperienced too. Just give it a try, and find out what works, and be willing to laugh together at the awkward times, remember he's nervous too! You'll be fine, everyone goes through it but it's worth it

It's good that you have waited so long into your relationship. Many people don't. As for your fear of pain, this is understandable. Every girl feels some pain, but it does not have to be harsh/extreme pain - there are many factors that add up to how much you will hurt, but no matter what, if it's consensual then you should be in no more pain than what you can stand.

There are a few different things that will lesson the initial pain, which in my case felt like a very sharp pinching, then popping (an odd sensation). First, you absolutely need your body to be relaxed. Try not to think about it, but if it can't be helped, bite your partners shoulder (with his permission of course) and/or have him do so to you - it's a good distraction.

Some people will suggest using such things as lubrication to lesson the pain, but I feel it will take away a lot of the sensation and meaning to you...

Anyway, it's all up to you. Remember that.

You are worried about the pain? If I were you, I would be more worried about the pain of the childbirth that will happen 9 months later after your feeble attempt at birth control fails. Please wait. Childbirth hurts and with you being so young they would have to give you an episiotomy. They do an episiotomy so you don't tear all the way to your anus. Now THAT is the pain I would worry about. Save yourself. You are about to give away a precious gift to someone who will probably only be around for another few months...less if you get pregnant. I sound like a biotch, but I dont' think you should be having sex if you are asking about it on Yahoo Answers.

Yes.. honey it will hurt a bit at first.. but there is no pleasure with out pain.. but after that it is great.. it's kinda one of those things that once you start you can't stop... he just have to remember to be gentle.. or maybe you can try to take control.. hop on and enjoy the ride ;) This will be something that the both of you will remember for most likely the rest of your life.. make sure you both really want to... and not to worry we all had or first... sometimes it's just not as dreamy as we expect it to be but there is always next time.

It only hurts for a moment and then it starts to feel good, take your time and make sure you are completely turned on before you start to ensure insertion is easier. You did say your biggest fear was the pain-do you have any other fears? Make sure you are completely ready so that you have no regrets. Best Wishes!

How old are you? Honey, you need to wait a lot longer than five months to give your precious virginity away. Pain is the last thing that should be on your mind - think about the pain you'll be in after he gets some and leaves you. Reconsider your first time . . .

There will be a little pain (and maybe a small amt of bleeding) the first time. It will be only that one time. In the meantime, make sure you are old enough and mature enough to do this before you agree to do it.

Don't do anything you are not ready to do. There is only one first time, it should be special. Waiting till you are married is the best option, then you are giving your husband a gift than no one has ever had before.
