My dad died when I was 4 years old and there are no pictures of him. I know he had a passport. Is there anyway to get the passport information and the picture that was submitted? It would have been given out around the late 20's or 30's.

Whatever pictures we did have of our dad was burned in a house fire.

Contact the Swedish Department of State, or equivalent, and see if they retain records that long. Since Sweden was neutral during WWII, they didn't get the hell bombed out of them, so records are more likely to exist there than in combatant states.

Here's a place to start:

No, unless someone had his old passport (relative, friend) then you are not going to be able to get a hold of it. I find it odd that there would be absolutely NO photos of him whatsoever with relatives.

If you mail me all you know about him, maybe I can help you.
I have the Swedish death book 1947-2003 on CD.

Have you tried to search him at google or altavista?
