Depends on the state. I believe that it is still on the books legally that a child of 14 can have an alcoholic beverage if dining with their parent, in Texas... However I'm sure that most establishments have house rules against such things.

First, a 20 year old is *NOT* a child...

Second, if you are in the States, it would depend on the bar, but probably not. I'm from Canada and I went to Cleveland when I was 20, and despite me being with my mother, I was not allowed to drink.

Hey Tacantila, First off, anyone who is twenty is not a child. The legal drinking age varies depending where you are. So the best answer would be to check with your local law enforcement agency. In most jurisdiction, the legal drinking age is 18 year, but as I said, check it out to be on the safe side. Don't drink and drive!

Depends on what country.. in the US it is 21... I don't care is Jesus is sitting on the bar stool next to you buying you a beer. I am a bartender and if I caught you drinking underage I would remove you and your parent immediately. I'm sorry.. I'm not losing my license and paying thousands of dollars because you can't wait another year to drink.
