I think it was just like Emmerdale Farm where people became too lazy to use the full name.

Actually I'll check on wikipedia...
"Black Label is a brand of beer well known throughout the former British Empire, where it is best known for its slogan "Hey Mabel, Black Label!". In several countries it is also known as Carling Black Label. However, in the UK it is now known as just 'Carling' - they dropped the 'Black Label' in 2000 in response to public demands for a snappier call at the bar (according to the company)."

What do you know? I guessed right. It was just for the sake of laziness that people dropped the "black label".

Correct to the gentleman who said it was made by Carlings, but Carlings in Canada was bought out in 1990 by Molson's who was bought out by the American bottler Coor's in 2005.

My father drank Carling Black label back in the 1960's, when our brewing companys were Canadian, it was exported to other countrys, I remember as a child seeing people in South Africa in National Geographic in a bar in Johennsburg drink it in large quart size bottles, they we diamond miners??

It was a widely used name for years, I can remember on a trip to Florida in 1991 seeing it at Publix and Winn-Dixie in the Orlando area, likely in the case as stated they just dropped the Carling name as it is brewed under licence to another bottler now, but it was originally a Canadian beer as far back as the 1940's.

People who drink Carling aren't too good at reading or remembering things. So they made it simple for them. I hear they are negotiating with Matt Groening to buy the name 'Duff' off him. Only one syllable and so very descriptive.
Ask for it 'extra cold' .That way it numbs your tastebuds, which is a great help.

definite I endure in techniques the advert. it form of feels to have been based on the final scene of Blazing Saddles the place the cowboys ran by way of a million/2 a dozen different following classified ads. one in each and every of them became right into a bathing powder advert. wish this helps.
