If you can get a direct flight, it would take about 10 hours and 17 minutes depending on the aircraft type, winds and weight for that day. It's 4,723 statute miles. You can get any flight time or distance estimate between airports at: http://www.jets.com/

15 to 16 hours depending on your airlines and how long of a stop over you have. I did not find any non-stop flight from Raleigh to Maui. The fastest seems to be American Airlines from Raleigh to Chicago and Chicago to Maui.

As KingGeorge mentioned above, there are no direct non-stop flight from Raleigh (RDU) to Kahului, Maui (OGG). If you can charter a plane, it will take only a little more than 10 hours as jetsinternational mentioned above.

The quickest schedule from RDU to OGG taking a commercial flight is 12 hours and 43 minutes on United Airlines. Here is their schedule, all arrival and departure times are in local time.

UA7196 departs RDU at 7:15am and arrives at Chicago O'Hare (ORD) at 8:31am for total flight time of 2 hours & 16 minutes.

UA3 departs ORD at 9:50am and arrives in Kahului (OGG) at 14:58 for total flight time of 9 hours & 8 minutes.

Total flight time of 11 hours & 24 minutes.

Using Delta Airlines, it will take 13 hours and 24 minutes.

DL372 departs RDU at 7:45am and arriving in Salt Lake City(SLC) at 10:45am, then DL343 departs at 12:15pm and arrives in Kahului, Maui at 4:09pm. The total flight time is just under 12 hours (11h 54min).

By flying American Airlines, it will take 14 hours and 5 minutes.

AA371 departs RDU at 7:35am and arrives in Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) at 9:45am. AA7 leaves DFW at 12:05pm and arriving in OGG at 4:40pm. The total flight time is 11 hours & 45 minutes, AA has longer waiting time in DFW.

FYI - American doesn't fly non-stop direct from Chicago O'hare.

If you are going with Northwest Airlines, it will take 15 hours & 46 minutes going through Minneapolis / St. Paul.

US Airways does stop in Charotte (CLT) and Las Vegas (LAS) but the total trip takes 13 hours and 58 minutes.

Have a great trip.

Your flight from Gatwick to Lanzarote will take around 4 hours and if you do experience any turbulence just remember that although it's uncomfortable it is normal and not dangerous. Just like driving over bumps in the road in your car! During turbulence I have a conversation or read my book this distracts me from the bumps, it feels worse if you sit in silence gripping the armrests! If you do decide to take medication from your doctor be careful not to drink any alcohol! Often nervous flyers have several drinks to settle their nerves and become more emotional because of the alcohol. When you board the airplane mention to the crew that your a nervous flyer and they can provide you with reasurance. You mentioned that your travelling with friends im sure they'll look after you too! Have a safe journey

Rough estimate would be ten hours. I live on the west coast, it would take me about five hours to get to Maui or Raleigh.
