I don't know about "hot", but when I was single, my favorite was a laundromat. Any laundromat, but the ones in the "low-rent" parts of town work quickest.
Take your own laundry, well mixed up, to your hunting ground. Just sit there with a "What the hell do I do now?" look on your face. Pick out your prospective date and proceed to approach her in a very humble, "Gee Whiz" attitude. Here you get inventive. If you're young enough, you can get away with the "I just moved out, and I don't know what I'm supposed to do first". If you're a little older, you might try the "Just Broke Up" or the "wife walked out" bits. Use your imagination!!
Select your subject with extreme care. The obvious first clue is the absence of rings, and the next is the absence of jock straps or men's style Haynes in her basket. You might dry-run this scenario a time or three before you put it on the ground, but I can honestly say that it worked for me every time!
Her maternal instincts will kick in and you've got a companion for the next couple of hours. Now you can offer to pay her back with a cup of coffee or something stronger. I'd recommend the coffee. Move slowly, little grasshopper.

I'd like to know the same thing, but for guys! :-) Well I'm at a school teaching most of the time, so maybe you could volunteer at an elementary school, LOL! Seriously though, I've tried 8-minute dating, and speed-dating, those are fun and you can see if you connect with the person right away. good luck. :-)
