it is a school thing, i need to make a simple tool, that could be used to climb a mountain, maybe like using toilet paper rolls and stuff like that.

Use an scissor to spike into the mountain face for purchase? The more expensive scissors actually break into 2 pieces, so you can probably even use them for foot grips/hand grips. Good LUCK!!

There's all sorts of tools used when climbing mountains but the main ones would be ropes, helmets, rock boots and hardware for rock climbing or ropes, helmets, crampons, ice-axes and hardware for ice climbing.
The hardware includes all kinds of belaying devices, chocks, cams, quads and other metal bits with funny names.
I think an ice axe would be a good thing to make - not hard and it represents mountain climbing well.
