It's all about getting your money. They have got everyone worried about something they have only studied for 30 years or so. The fact is, the people telling you this stuff will probably come out and say, "oops, sorry, we were wrong" just like they did when they said peanut butter and beef causes cancer when I was a kid. Sorry, the human is no match for earth, everything comes from earth and it will go back to the earth, and earth will recycle the stuff in it's own way.

People like to be scared. Remember the hype over Y2K? Experts were telling us planes would fall from the sky, banks would lose all money, stock market would crash, water, electricity would be shut down, cars and toasters wouldn't work anymore!

When nothing happened on Jan 1,2000, people needed another thing to fear. So called global warming fit the bill nicely. We know so very little about the climate that anyone can say anything and it can't be proven wrong.

This is why they use "consensus" science. Consensus science is politics, as science doesn't care about what the consensus thinks, but cares only about the facts.

Global warming is a $5BILLION business in the US alone! And it is one of the biggest frauds committed on the people in this country. Even Enron didn't take as much from as many people!

For many years people were saying global warming wasn't going to be as bad as the scientists predicted.

Unfortunately, now it seems to be much worse than the scientists predicted.

If the worlds population was a quarter of what it is now, I might agree with you, but without a viable alternative to fossil fuels and the amount of forest that has been chopped down in the last 50 years, the future for humans on this planet looks bleak.

The scientific debate about whether global warming is real and caused by man is over. This is not some treehugger Commie conspiracy to control people.

Scientists agree it's real and caused by man:

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,1995348,00.html

Business leaders agree it's real and caused by man:

Republican leaders agree it's real and caused by man:

"We simply must do everything we can in our power to slow down global warming before it is too late. The science is clear. The global warming debate is over."

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Republican, Governor, California

"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."

John McCain, Republican, Senator, Arizona

"These technologies will help us become better stewards of the environment - and they will help us to confront the serious challenge of global climate change."

President George Bush, Republican

The global warming deniers are exactly the same type of non-science believers as the people who don't believe we landed on the moon.

I would have added "or those who believe the Earth was made 6000 years ago". But I can't. Evangelical Christians believe it's real and caused by man:

The scientific debate over whether global warming is real and caused by man is finished. Yes and yes.

And it won't be benign. It won't destroy man, but it will be very bad. It will flood coastal areas and damage agriculture. Rich countries will see huge costs, and the standard of living will go down. In poor countries people will die of starvation.

Sorry bub. Global warming--and its human causes--are proven fact. So are the consequences if we don't act.

And--no offense meant--but you sound like a fool by continuing to believe the propaganda put out by the oil companies. People are just going to laugh at you.

I blame it on the media. They latch on to one thing and kill it and with CNN and all the news channels, face it. There isn't that much news in a day so they have to reach for other stuff. Where is Monica Lewinsky when we really need her ?
