The following response, and a couple of others like it, was given:

God NEVER causes suffering.
"If he allows the suffering its because he withdraws his protection, but he never does it himself. "

Is withdrawing protection from suffering not tantamount to causing suffering? In other words, is it ok for a god to allow suffering, when he could have prevented it? Is there no contributory negligence here?

Each conspirator with prior knowledge of a planned felony may be held equally guilty of any crime committed by the main actors. Timmothy McVeigh drove the truck bomb, Terry Nichols got a life sentence for his part. Aiding and abetting the 9/11 hijackers including Zacarias Mousaoui, the so-called "19th hijacker," was prosecuted for his confessed assistance.

By the same standard, god is guilty of aiding and abetting Satan in the felony murder of Job's servants as well as animal cruelty, Racketeering under Federal Rico statutes.

God gave mankind free will. If he intervened over everything then we would be merly robots. Besides if he punished people immediatly nobody would be here now. God is patient, bad happens because Satan is the God of this world. Suffering comes from disobedience, and God does allow it. But that doesn't imply he is the cause of suffering. Because suffering resulted from the decision of others given free will, or because of their sin.
