i can make fun of everyone. i make fun of molestation, rape, burn victims, starving children,blacks,mexicans,asians,whites, EVERYTHING. and they arent realy funny either they are just downright cruel. and i am a pretty caring and compassionate person but this is my sense of humor. so what gives?

You call yourself caring and compassionate, when you think joking and making fun at such things is FUNNY!! You need to take a BIG step backwards and re-evaluate your self appraisal. You MAY be the only one who thinks so. Do you even know what compassion means? How can you be compassionate if you joke about such matters and say such cruel things? THINK MAN!!!
On being a caring and a compassionate person take a tip or two from me.
1. "If you can't say something nice about a person, rather say nothing at all."
2. Remember - "There but for the grace of GOD go I"
3. "Do unto others as you would have do unto you".
4. "What goes around, comes around!"
No.3 may be a biblical quote, but believe me many religions preach the same thing. You need to shut your mouth and consider what you say before blabbing out cruel and hurt-full "jokes".

But seriously, it is probably the fact that you are caring and compassionate enough to know that you don't believe or have any true feelings about the sick and twisted jokes that you tell. I am pretty much the same way - for political reason I try to avoid and refrain from degrading or racial jokes but I can totally joke about death and other things that most people would find kind of sick or twisted. I guess it all depends on your level of self confidence and assuredness. The sad thing is that there are people out there that make sick and twisted jokes but they really believe what they are saying (in other words wish ill will towards other people).

Hehe, yet for sure! once you may watch trailers for videos people imagine are gross and giggle and/or imagine they could be exciting (eg Human Centipede) i'm exceptionally particular that counts...
