This statement is based upon the failure of Adam to keep away from the Tree of Knowledge. It is also applied to sAtAn's fall from Grace, and yet I AM BLAMED 4 their actions? Why would I want to be judged by a god that is considerably prejudiced against me already because he blames me for the actions of others? In America we set precedence around the world when we declared "Innocent until proven guilty". However, as with the Monarchy that is represented by the bible "The Kingdom of God" we find that its supreme ruler has ALREADY FOUND US GUILTY, and falls short ofThe United States Constitution. So according to THE BIBLE I am Guilty as I am one that has sinned, yet MY Constitutional right, conveys that I Am innocent-This is part of the major conflict we Realists are now addressing to you religious types. YOU would have us follow your manifest and declare your God our leader and to follow him. From what I've seen he's GUILTY! And YOUR religion corrupts the American Process, hipocrit

You miss the target by a country mile. Your obviously an atheist or agnostic, not willing to believe that you can do wrong. You are also perverse insofar as you equate God's law with laws or a constitution written my men. (Some of whom were not such nice people in reality!!) You poor pathetic person! You thinks that God gives a damn as to what your constitution says? He was around a whole lot earlier than Abe & Co.

You are also an arrogant red neck American!

"America sets precedence around the World" - and this meant only in a good way - Bollocks!!! You are the only nation to have used a nuclear weapon in wartime. Not only that, but twice, and against civilians. You also feel you can invade other nations at will, when and how you like , despite what international law dictates or international opinion of doing so may be. That and a whole very long list of dirty political moves that have harmed many in the interest of American self well being. Learn more about what you have done in Africa, South America, and elsewhere.

You think America gave the world democracy, and fair play in a court of law? Study your history more closely. There was history before the continent of America was even "discovered". As if the rest of the world gives a proverbial toss about the Constitution of the United States - read it carefully, it is not so PC these days you know.

That statement you quote is meant for YOU my friend, and you take it out of context completely. The Bible does talk of the "sins of your father" but your quote is just a plain statement of fact. Unless you are God you have sinned, period. No mere mortal can ever be perfect. (Or are you?) You have never broken any of the 10 commandments? Truly?

God forgives us sin if we own up to it, take responsibility for it, and ask for forgiveness. It may be the last thing you do on this mortal World, but you will be forgiven and the slate wiped clean if you do this and mean it. That is an unkind God? There is hope even for a blasphemous heathen like yourself, thanks to God.

Wow. I just argued with a religious person who made a faulty argument against logic. Now I am faced with a supposedly logical person making a faulty argument against religion.

Fact is that you are totally misinterpreting the traditional view of the Bible. The statement you are quoting in your question comes from the letters of Paul, and has nothing to do with Adam or Satan. In fact, the point of that letter is that we are NOT blamed for their actions. We all commit sins, and God doesn't care! We are forgiven for our sins. That is the point of the New Testament.

Your references to Satan's fall from grace and the "failure" of Adam come from a medieval theological point of view, a view that most Christians do not even hold anymore. Even in the Middle Ages these point of views were not tied to the verse you quote.

That said, let me see if I understand your poorly worded argument, which makes little sense. You are suggesting that the Bible contradicts the Constitution, which says we are innocent until proven guilty. I don't see what you are talking about. Sin and crime are not necessarily the same thing. Religion and law are definitely not the same thing. Are you suggesting that all people are inherently good? Are you suggesting that someone is not guilty of a lie or adultery or assault unless they are found guilty in a court of law? I'm a Christian, and I would agree with you in a legal sense. Legal commitment of someone's rights or guilt is a completely separate thing from the concept of sin and forgiveness that is presented in the Bible. You are comparing apples and oranges.

I don't know what is worse: Christians who foolishly try to use the Bible to "prove" concepts to people who do not believe in the Bible in the first place, or people with little to no understanding of the Bible trying to prove to lifetime scholars of the Bible that they are wrong using poorly thought out arguments based on random verses in the Bible and a distorted view of what Christians supposedly believe in?

Simply put if a person falls short of God's expectations , they are a sinner. Thus I AM a sinner and will be one until I die and pass into eternity and my life with our Lord Creator. I you don't agree and that upsets you, take it up with GOD.
Borderline illiteracy is a sad thing to see; it's spelled HYPOCRITE. Better look in the mirror to see who is the hypocrite.

The one thing you should be thankful to God for is your rights. The constitution does not give you your rights, It clearly states that you were born with your rights granted to you by your creator. Are you saying that you have no rights because you don't believe in God?

You've never sinned? Wow. The Bible was long around before this country was even founded.

Is it lonely up there on your pedestal?

Seriously have some respect for others. God is our Lord, and is very loving, I feel sorry that you cannot see that. The fact is, EVERYBODY is a sinner, no body is the exception.

this is an odd place to put that question.

Since humans are not all knowing, and allegedly god is (I'm an atheist) it makes sense for us humans not to apportion guilt or blame until we can prove it.
