i like this instructor who works at the local gym, Whenever i go there, he always chats to me for about 45 mins to an hour on a one to one about all kinds of stuff, he always asks me to go in when he is working, he tells me the times of when he was working and asks me to go in and see him. He came into the gym looking for me once too. He has given me compliments and also walked me to my car the once, and I never notice him talking to any other girls! He has a girlfriend but has recently split with her, and he told my friend that he knows that i like him and that he doesnt want to lead me on, so now I'm really confused, it really seemed like he liked me, could it be it's too soon for him? do you think he likes me at all?

He said he doesn't want to lead you on... which means... he thinks he's leading you on... So i think maybe he doesn't like you? Or maybe he doesn't want to think he wants a relationship right now... Since you like him, it could be that you've mistaken his simple friendly behavior for flirting or showing interest on a more than "just friend" basis... I would just let things play out... and not make assumptions... If he likes you "like that" I'm sure he'll make it obvious, especially since he knows you like him.

He may like you but, if he wanted to date you, he would ask. He may just like to hang out with you while he's working. I'm sure he enjoys talking to you as a friend. It makes work more bearable and I'm sure it doesn't hurt his reputation with the other guys to be seen talking to a cute girl like you.
"Doesn't want to lead her on" means "NOT INTERESTED IN DATING HER". Move on and find someone who WILL ask you out and keep him as a friend if you can get past liking him more than that.

Ask him out for a coffee an test the water you will soon see if he has real feeling for you, but beware make sure your not a re-bound. you don't want to get hurt

well if he told your friend that he doesn't want to give you the wrong idea then it must be to soon for him..but judging by what you have said. i would think he is defiantly interested..but doesn't want to take it any further right now..just wait and see what happens..
