We aren't having sex. I've made it very clear to him that I'm not ready for that. So...besides the sex part is there other reasons why a 16 year old should not date a 20 year old?

i dont think it is a big deal in the fact that u both are only 4 years apart, however the law is what it is. he is over 18 and u are under 18 so the chances are he could get into BIG trouble if u both are doing any naughty naughty. when u are 18 and he is 22.... things will be perfect but until then, id be careful if i were u. other then that... i see no problems, good luck and God Bless.

I felt the same way u do when I was your age. My answer would be there are some relavent issues with that, ex: your only 16 which means he's a little more experienced, you can't get into clubs b/c of your age and ultametly he'll want different things than you. Look, you'll have questions in the back of your head
that will make you insecure. Men don't tend to like that & for a 20
yr. old MAN sex is a big deal trust me! So go for your dreams now so when your 20 someone older than you won't be quite as big of a deal. Obviously YOU have an issue with it or you wouldn't have asked on line! Good luck!

So why are you asking this question? It is statutory rape in most states if you do have sex!

Why would a 20 year old guy date a 16 year old girl if he was able to date anyone he chose? Does he have some sort of disability or maturity issue? What's so special about the 16 year old girl that she would be worth his taking the risk of being alone with her and being accused of improper/illegal behavior?

I was once a grown-up looking and acting teenager who had a few older guys interested in me -- looking back at them, I think they were losers not able to attract a woman their own ages.

Get interested in people your own age. Then, when you are 21 and he is 25, if there is still an attraction, he's not a loser, and it's all legal, maybe it won't be a problem.

OK when I was your age and that wasn't that long ago, I am now 23 and married.
But I didn't look at it as a big deal till now and it's not right honey you should wait till you are a little older trust me.
It didn't hit me tell I was 21 and realized how sick it was when all the men my age were after school girls that were Just now freshman that was the "Big" eye opener!...
It's wrong any way that you look at it and he could get into alot of trouble and even do some jail time!!
just be careful, because you won't listen to anyone here just remember to use protection you don't want to end up 15 and prego with no man there cuz he is behind bars!!! Good Luck

No, a lot of my friends are 16 and they are dating a 20 year old. Not all guys are the same and I don't think age matters at all. as long as your family is ok with it then dont worry age is only a number just before if yall do start having sex or anything serious.

well my brother is 19 and was dating his high school sweet heart who was also 16. the thing is, and no offense at all by this, but you aren't really ready for the serious dating scene. there are things that you are still learning and discovering about dating so it is very difficult to be serious. i know you probably think that i have no idea what you are talking about but i do. i got engaged at 15 to an 18 yr. old i thought i could handle it but i wasn't ready for that. i did love him but it was "puppy love". people used to tell me all the time that it was just puppy love and i wouldn't listen but now i know it was.if you are going to date him have fun with it but don't expect anything serious because honey you are not ready and don't hink that just because you are dating someone older it makes you more of an adult because it doesn't. good luck and hold on, it's going to be a bummpy ride.

i don't think it is at all. i was goin with a 20 year old when i was 15. its not a big issue. sure you guys will have differences and he'll be able to do a few things you cant (wether it be sex or drinking), but as long as he's clear that you arent ready for things like that and he respects that there is no problem.
:D

i do not imagine it really is incorrect yet in maximum states its a criminal offense. In some its only a superb and a caution yet in others that is detention middle time. i do not imagine that is faulty I mean its probable a lot less then 2 years yet you ought to not decide on to point it to people. courting isn't a criminal offense yet in some states even kissing is a criminal offense. i ought to inspect google. via how i ought to talk sex purely because you do not decide on it to take position one evening at the same time as you at the instantaneous are not "waiting." If he's eighteen he should understand that is a criminal offense. that is a unusual regulation so i ought to look it up on your state. (: On a off word to the remark above me Jay-Z and Beyonce have filed for a divorce yet they're nonetheless not formally divorced yet.

yes, later on in life 4yrs difference is no big deal, but at your age 4 years is a generation apart, you are too young to date a 20 yr old, and should find someone your own age for now
