I've never understood the whole concept that water is supposed to fill you up, because, though it does literally fill you up, there's no energy in it, so as far as I'm concerned that's baloney.

Some say eating a small handful of almonds, or some other nuts, can curb appetite - as it's a good mix of protein and healthy fats that digest slowly and somehow promote a feeling of fullness (that's the theory...).

If you're up for doing supplements, then you could try something like hoodia, which is a cactus extract thingy that tricks your brain into thinking you're full when you're not. But note that there are no reputable studies which show that hoodia is necessarily safe.

Good luck

There are some tricks. The aforementioned eating of a hand ful of almonds or other nuts about 20-30min before meals does help.

Also- slow down. It takes about 15 min for your stomach to tell your brain that it's full. So- eat slower. Spread your meals out. starting with a salad, perhaps a cup of soup. a small entree. Put your fork down between every bite, and don't pick it up again until you finish the food that's in your mouth.

also... Snack! Eat 5 meals a day rather than 2 or 3. One of the worst ways to lose weight is to try and skip meals. You end up getting so hungry that you overeat.

good luck

Water works for me... the idea is that when you think you are hungry, often you are thirsty, and the water is what you really want. Doesn't work for everyone, but it does work for some. Another thing is that you drink alot of water when you eat, so that your stomach fills up faster, and it triggers the mechanism in your brain that you are full sooner.

Have you tried eating high-fiber foods? They take longer to digest, fill you up faster, and keep the sensation of being full longer. Plus, you are supposed to have 25-30g per day, and it can help prevent colon cancer.

Otherwise, if this is a snacking issue, keep fruits and veggies around as snacks, so if you do eat, you don't feel guilty.

If this is smooth and passes without discomfort, those behaviors are frequent. in case your toddler seems having difficulty, curling the knees up antagonistic to the toddler's chest might want to help. in case you experience that your toddler IS certainly constipated then try a teaspoon of mineral oil extra to a tablespoon of applesauce or maybe 4 oz.of any liquid. always replacing the toddler's formulation also might want to reason constipation. lowering constipating causing cereals for a lengthy time period will also help. it really is sweet so that you will see your pediatrician again. in case you experience no longer something is replacing, then get a second opinion from the different pediatrician. sturdy success.

It really depends on your diet. When I'm trying to lose a few pounds, I'll make bananas my go-to snack--I usually use portion control and limit fats. Bananas aren't too sugary and you can usually eat as many as you want without blowing your diet. Lettuce would be better, but there is only so much lettuce one can eat.

If you are going low carb (never tried it, but I heard) that no matter what you eat, you will always have an appetite--odd as it sounds there is no substitute for bread in your mind. (Bananas are not low-carb, if you are on low-carb I have no advice).
