A swollen Uvula can be caused by several things.
Hot coffee, hot sauce, or any food that is scratchy.
You may also have an allergy.
But the most common problem is dry throat.
Usually caused by sleeping with your mouth open.
Avoid mouth wash that contains alcohol. A Uvula

You will definitely be able to tell the difference. If it
doesn't get better with rinsing each morning, room
temperture water rinse, don't use salted water,
it's drying, contact your doctor.

A swollen, enlarged uvula may be due to uvulitis, an inflammation of the uvula. This can be caused by allergy as well as infection. Have your primary care provider take a look. If severe enough, this condition can sometimes interfere with respiration and become a true medical emergency.

OK if you have a fever with these symptoms I would recommend seeing your dr. I have had these symptoms without the fever and went to the dr. My Dr. said that if I had had a fever that she would check me for mono or you could have the flu. Take Tylenol Flu..........it helps everything!! For your throat gargle salt water, suck on throat drops and drink warm teas/coffee, ect... Hope you get well soon! I am just getting over all of this!
