If you were a founder-owner of a small craft brewery in Chicago, what would you do to counter the move of large companies, like Coors and Anheuser-Bush, into the craft beer market?

First I would love to know what the name of your brewery is and if you have a website or place where I can get information about it. I live in Milwaukee and I have made it a point to visit all the small breweries in my area. As for your question, I would go to a liquor store that sells a variety of microbrews and also moves a lot of product. Then advertise your beer on the shelf by posting a description and rating from a famous beer site such as beeradvocate.com. Most stores have no problem with this. If your brewery is not listed on a beeradvocate, then you can take a few minutes, submit a picture, list your beers and I will certainly encourage people to rate them. After we sample them of course. As mentioned before, convincing restaurants to sell your beer is a great idea. Also, grocery stores usually don't carry too many microbrews, but I have found it easy to convince them to buy a few kinds. In the end though, your beer's quality will speak for itself. Word of mouth is the most pure and trustworthy form of advertisement. Also, the people the regularly buy craft beers are not going to buy into large companies craft beers. Their beers will still be far inferior and probably just as expensive as the thousands of great craft beers available. The positive thing I can see coming out of this is that more people will gradually move towards drinking a variety of beers and help support the smaller breweries.

P.S. According to beeradvocate.com, Blue Moon is produced by Coors.
