Anyone taken speed?

Question

has anyone ever known of someone to die from taking speed. Not overdosing but just taking it for a night out.

No i dont take it myself so no lectures please and thank you!

I assure you it was not an overdose, I was there when a friend took it last week, she was not greedy and took less than a 1/4 of a gramme. She was dead within an hour!!

I did not and would not ever touch the stuff! I was just wondering about other peoples experiences.

Known people to have died from it eventually,but like every other drug, or alcohol its abuse in the end, the drugs do work, contrary to what people think, took speed 20 yrs, with no adverse effects, been alcoholic 30yrs, like i said, its abuse that gets you, aint condoning it, before you anti-drug do-gooders jump on your high horses, but each to their own, dont do it myself anymore, or charlie, E,s and the like,but had some great times on them,but people have never known, probably wouldnt believe the truth,but have responsible job and first baby at age 49, time to grow up I suppose, maybe get married, just bought my fist volvo,game over, regards;

I havnt heard of anyone dying from taking speed once, but i suppose the strain it puts on your heart,if you took enough in one go it is definately possible,and evryones different so some people could cope with more than others. I have taken speed before on nights out and have taken it on a daily basis for a long period,trying to lose weight and i can tell anyone who's thinkingof takin it,not to!!It ruins your skin,hair and general health.Yes it makes you lose weight but anyone thinkin of losing weight this way DONT iv tried it and now iv stopped taking it im bigger than i ever was and am finding it an absolute nightmare to lose anything as iv lost a lot of muscle.It mess's your head up causing mood swings,depression and total paranoia.It is highly addictive and hard to stop taking as the come downs are an absolute nightmare.Hope this helps anyone who's thinking of taking it.

I think if you died from it, people would say it therefore *was* an overdose.

[I meant this as a matter of definition. If a small dose was enough to kill someone, then that might be regarded as an overdose for them. Maybe I am wrong.]

I don't think the chance of dying from it on a night out is very high. I'm not promising you can't die though, it's definitely not good for your long term health and it leaves you with a horrible comedown.

[I'm sorry about your friend. I think this is pretty rare, maybe there was something about how she reacted to it, like an allergy, or it was dodgy speed]

I agree with the girl with the sexy @ss. Its the stuff they cut it with, ajax and other bad sh1t. I took loads of it in the past and maybe im lucky, but ive never heard of it killing anyone until now. Don't take it anymore, got kids to think about.

cyrstal meth doesn't have that kind of effect on the body. in some ways it is safer than cocaine as coke can disrupt the signal from the brain to the heart and cause it to stop beating. neither are obviously good for you

My son did not die, but it was a very long night in the er. His heart was just racing, couldn't get a breath, he was scared to death and hasn't taken it since, thank God.

the danger is more in what you think maybe speed but is cut with just about anything...i do know of a friend who died because the 'speed' she bought...(for one night out as you state)..was cut with penicillin...she was fatally allergic to penicillin and her heart stopped...you should always be aware of what you are putting in your body...the consequences can be fatal.....x

but it sounds like you want to, or are you asking on behalf of a friend? people die all the time from sticking powder up their nose, no matter what it is.

Yeah many peple have died on their first try......just like ectasy...all drugs are dangerous and harm you in some way in the long run....
