Hello Delores,
I did some research on the Internet and found a resource for you. Check out http://elfurl.com/4iulv for a very good database/listing to find for existing grants that are available to you and your mother.

I hope this helps you,

No, not really. But if she lives with you and you're providing for her, you can claim her as a deduction on your income tax returns and hopefully get some money back.

Also if she's 89 and has no income, she can probably get Medicaid. Medicaid will pay for a home health care worker, so maybe you won't have to care for her 24 hours a day and perhaps get a part time job.

If you live in the state of Oregon, I believe that you can if you become a licensed care provider. Contact the Adult and Family Services division in your home state. Also social security or medicare resources could help you. You might also contact any local care facility, they could direct you to the proper channels.
If nothing else you could claim her as a dependant for tax purposes.

The previous answers are correct, that it will depend upon your location. A number of states or localities provide payment (typically minimum wage for up to [x] hours a week) for persons providing in-home supportive services. You might contact your local senior advocacy group, as they can probably direct you to the right agency to contact, or provide other information.

unfortunately not,but there are people in high places looking into that.the only assistance there might be,is calling a visiting nurses agency that may help you with home health aids that her social security might pay for. call you local town, council on aging, maybe they can advise you.it's a great thing to take care of your mother.i took care of my mother-in-law for 5yrs. and my mother for 2yrs.they are both deceased now. god bless you.

If she has insurance or like medicaid you might be able to go through them. But, you might need a liscense of some sort to get paid. I would call them and ask...asking is free

That is quite possible. You need to check with your local state regulations on the subject - start with their web site and try to search it for this topic.

You would have to check with your specific state. She should be collecting social security - will she give you some of that to cover her expenses?
