i am overweight so obviously i have fats legs . i'm starting to loose weight and i really don't want to build any muscles especially on my legs.
i know that there are two types of exercise. One is for losing weight and the other is for gaining weight.
What exercise can I do without creating bulky muscles?
I'm quite hesitant to do exercises without knowing what they are for. It might worsen my physique so that what is thin will become thinner and what is broad and wide will become broader and wider.
help please thanks

The key is aerobic exercise.

The best way to lose weight is to power-walk or jog at a speed where you are comfortable enough to keep going for a long period of time, but breathless enough to be unable to hold a conversation with someone. Cut fatty foods out of your diet and keep at this routine, and you should see results soon enough.

I also suggest that you do some anaerobic exercises while you're at it, so that you can tone the muscles that will show through when you lose fat. You won't get as bulky as you fear you will as long as you weight-train in moderation.

Contrary to popular beliefe your metabolic rate is highly affected by the amount of lean muscle mass in your body. The overall formula is to burn more calories than you intake daily, the best way to do this is by running and doing "core" exercises. These require no weights and you can do them in your home if your too embarassed to go to a gym and they work on stengthening and leaning out all aprts of the bodies as well as providing agility and overall health.

If you are seriouse about doing this I would print this out:
http://www.stewsmith.com/6weekrunningplan.pdf

This was written by a navy seals trainer in regards to losing weight, it is a 6 week work-out regime that has a lot of running, stretching and core exercises (similar to a military PT) and will have you lookin like an olympic athlete once your done cadet, Hooah!!

You will not create bulky muscles, the muscles are what make you look tight, to actually look like a body builder you would have to pump seriouse weights, by doing "core" exercises you can assure yourself than it will tighten you up without gaining actual bulk.

This will not happen no matter what you do, as long as you work out all parts equally. Getting buff is not something you have to worry about if your overweight.

I have started weight training and the best way to thin and tone, without bulking is to do less weight but more repetitions. So 2 or 3 sets of 10 at a lower weight.

First of all you're making a massive mistake. You don't wanna be rail thin. Now i am gonna tell u this in view that I honestly care don't STARVE yourself!!!That best makes your body uncertain when you're going to eat again so your body robotically stores fats so you are going to clearly obtain weight. So if you really wanna be rail skinny print out the hollywood diet.Considering the fact that you are a vegetarian this food plan is most commonly fruit and veggies.Additionally with some easy workout routines you will be thin very quickly.

Agree with "Stcretcho" more reps and less weights or no weights (10 to 15 maybe even 20 reps)
running is good squats are good (watch the weight there if your using weights) lunges are great for thighs and buns as is squats

And don't for get watch what you eat and drink lots of water

"congrats on losing weight"

Do squats, lunges and leg extensions. you must build the muscle as this will help burn off fat. do cardio as well. you will only build bulk if you train heavy. There is no other way. forget pilates and all that stuff.

Don't use any weight or resistance. Like walking but not uphill or riding a bike but only on easy setting.
