U.S. to kill Iranians in Iraq that pose a threat.
I spoke to a soldier how said the only way to determine the enemy in Iraq, is if they were armed.
So my question is:
How will a soldier determine a Iranian that is of a danger?

If someone is going to kill you, then they are the enemy. The problem is sometimes you don't know they are going to kill you until it's too late! So much like Vietnam, there is no good way to deal with this war. We should not have been there in the first place, but now that we are the sooner we get out the better! It's come down to a civil war, and we need to let them them split their country up. Just wasting life, both theirs and ours; along with spending billions of dollars that could be used to save people's lives instead of end them.

That's just my opinion, but when I look at the facts I don't see it any other way.

The answer lies in intelligence and local reporting.

Much of what US Soldiers do in Iraq is not just patrolling (in which case you probably can't tell that your attackers are from Iran), but also conducting raids on insurgent personnel, equipment, and facilities.

For example, our signals intelligence gets a lot of information on terrorists from cell phone intercepts. If the guy saying "We're going to explode a bomb at the Tal Afar police station" is speaking Farsi instead of Arabic, there's about a 99% chance he's Iranian. Likewise, informants frequently have background info on the people they're ratting out - they're Sunni, or wahabist, or that they're financed through Syria, or that they're being stirred up by a Iranian Imam.

While the rules of engagement allow lethal force for self defense against any legitimate immediate physical threat (Iraqi, Iranian, man/woman/child) (i.e. there's never been a problem killing an Iranian in a firefight), a deliberate attack on a threat known to originate out of Iraq has had special rules and precautions. The order allowing killing threat Iranians relaxes some (but not all - you still have to validate the threat) of those precautions.

Find a picture, or even better a video, of Hassan Nasarallah, the leader of Hezbollah who's currently trying to overtrhow the democratically elected Lebanese government. Now find another image or video of Muqtada al-Sadr, and compare. If you can't tell by their identical mannerisms, attitudes, and appearances, both these guys are working for the same boss..... that would be Fuhrer Ahmadinejad and the Iranians. Ahmijad and Assad (Syria) wanna carve Iraq in half and each take a piece.

The real spectrum of the question is not if an Iranian in Iraq is a threat, but if Iran is threatening our soldiers in Iraq. Everybody who cares to truly study the issue knows that Iran has been financing and training terrorists to go into Iraq, because a destabilized Iraq is in Iran's best interests for several reasons. One, it helps Iran continue to have as much of the oil monopoly it currently enjoys, two a democratic Iraq that is friendly to the US poses a threat to them, and three because of Islamic law they consider a secular democracy in Iraq unworthy of having power.

A new report shows that the Iranian government directly had a hand in infiltrating and killing American troops in one of their barracks. America can and should go to war with Iran.

Assuming that you can determine that the person is Iranian, then the fact that they are in Iraq means that they are a threat.

The soldier was right. If he's pointing a weapon at you, he's the enemy and poses a threat, and should be blown into the next dimension immediately.

NOW maybe you understand what our troops are going through.

The soldier is right to a point. That point beyond is the ones that walk up with bombs under their clothing & blow themselves & everyone around them up! The car loaded with explosives being driven by a woman with children in that car. Since we don't think that way we assume that they are just innocent people & boom!

Hey, c'mon. Our intelligence agencies are the bestest in the whole wide world. Why, remember, Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction? and Mission Accomplished? You bet! Our intelligence will weed out the dangerous Iranians.

Soldiers said the same thing in Vietnam. You can't tell the good guys from the bad guys. It's amazing how similar these two wars are.
