how can i solve two or more than 2 linear equation using T1 83 calculator?

for eg. find value of x and y from the given equations
2x-3y-6=0 and 9x+4y+6=0
how can i solve this problem without graphing in t183 calculator? do i need to download any software for calculator? If u know any other kind of calculator that solve linear and quardatic both equations. Please let me know. I will be more than happy if they solve 3 unknowns. or cube equations (AX3 + BX2 + CX + D = 0)

I don't know the ti83 calculator, but if it will find the inverse matrix for you then you can use it to solve a set of linear equations in matrix form. For the example you gave, you get

2x - 3y = 6 and
9x + 4y = -6 so input the matrix

(2, -3)
(9, 4)

Get the inverse, then multiply by

(6)
(-6)

The result will be the x and y value.

I used to have a calculator that would solve an 8 x 8 set of equations, ie 8 unknowns.
