What Dose Clean and Consecrate mean?

I have just got an angel board but it says you need to Clean and Consecrate the board often.
what dose that mean?

Sounds pagan. I think you do it with water, smoke and a chant or something. Consecrate means make ready for spiritual use. In Christianity it means something more specific. Maybe you should not be using it if you do not know the basics of your religion. That could be dangerous.
