I don't want to end up being an emotional basket case that will lead to being annoyed with my sweety. How can we enjoy the change and maintain a positive attitude? How can we keep this fun?

Moving is stressful, but you can have fun. Start thinking of how you can decorate the new place and things that are fun that you can do are to (Have Fun In Each Room) as you move in. You can also name the rooms I call my living room by a name and the bathroom is it's own name, (We did that one with the kids) LOL However, fun in change is what you bring with you to the move and remember however you feel will rub off on your sweety and if you are light and comfortable about it then so will your sweety be. Have fun and enjoy a new start.

It's difficult to understand what part of moving you have trouble with. Is it the packing? Unpacking? Change of friends or leaving old ones? Facing a new town, new people?

If it's just plain packing and moving...that alone can be a very frustrating time for both. One of the things I found that makes moving easier and ALOT less frustrating, is to make a list.

Lable boxes #1, #2, #3, etc. Take your list and write down the box # then what items are inside. Maybe while one is packing the box, the other can write down the item on the list. When it comes time to unpack, it's so much easier to look at your list and know where everything is. Even if it's not unpacked yet.

Most of all, try to look at it as a great adventure. You need each other to accomplish it. Your in it together and it can be fun if you let it. Trick is to remove all possible frustrations ahead of time.

Good luck with your move :)

By seeing it as an adventure. Explore your new town. Go to church and meet new people. Go to any of the town events and before you know it you will be at home. Just give it a try and make up your mind that you'll be ok. You have the Internet to connect with those you left behind. Do more to integrate into your new surrounding then spending time thinking about where you left. Just make a new start and give it a full year.

Say something off the wall. Then you got to laugh about it and if you get crazy looks just laugh more and don't stop laughing no matter how you feel you always need a good laugh.
