my ex and i stayed friends long after we broke up from our 2 yr relationship, and recently (a few weeks ago) we started a relationship again. it's become long distance this time because i'm taking a semester off from college (we met at our college).
the distance seems to be helping because seeing eachother everyday in the past has caused arguments from school-related stress.
he is busy lately because he is studying for the mcat (he will die if he doesn't get into med school).
however, he doesn't want to talk on aim like we used to.
and we usually get together on saturdays. this particular weekend we were supposed to celebrate my birthday.
however, he pushed the day back to sunday, because he said that he doesn't have enough money to buy me a present till then (sunday is when his parents visit him/give him money).
the thing is,that seems like a stupid reason to push our day back to sunday.
i know he is busy with classes/mcat, but i think he's not telling me something.
ADVICE?

it was over the first time you broke up, and it's still over now.

If you broke up because of trust issues than there is no reason in believing that he is busy. Remember why you broke up. If it has nothing to do with this issue than he really might be very busy. Studying takes up a lot of time and energy so give him his space. If he loves you he will look for you, If he doesnt its not worth your time anyway. Remember that if he does go to med school there are going to be many times when you feel lonely because it is a career that takes up a lot of time. Especially when they are practicing at the hospital.

It's nice that he wants to wait to celebrate your birthday until he can get you something. But, it's YOUR birthday! Don't you think he should celebrate with you on your actual birth day? It sounds like he wants to remain friends and still cares about you, but not in "that" way, and maybe this is his way of letting you know that. Just wait and see if anything changes after his test.

A guy will treat you however you let him treat you. Think about that for a little bit. People talk bad about high maintenance girls but who gets what they want? girls who let the guy know exactly what they want and expect from a guy. Always expect respect. If he is not treating you like a princess then- believe me there are lots of guys out there that will.

give the guy a break, this could be why you did not lat the first time. Quit doubting the guy

hmm i think he really is busy if he is trying to get into med school....but if he was really into you then he would be wanting to spend as much time as possible with you. i say just let him go.
