why blood pressure can't be taken on the same arm of a mastectomy?

in mastectomy,they remove the involved side lymph nodes, also the tributaries of blood vessels are developing,hence it may give a false note in postoperative period. however later it won't be much of a problem

the surgery damages the lymphatics on that side, leaving the arm vulnerable to trauma from compression.
