He lives 3 hours away and likes sweets, so I just wanted some ideas on what to bake/make or bring that will last during the car trip up there...any suggestions?

Girl let me tell you. I'm right along with you, all though I'm not much of a fan of sweets, I love baking and my boyfriend love sweets. I can tell you alot of websites to check out.
Alright this is by far my favorite kind of sweets. It's called POPCORN CANDY BALLS, it's an all-time favorite by many. It's easy to make, in-expensive, and you can add and take-out ingridients that you don't like or maybe you don't have around the house! But, for real, your boyfriend will love any sweets you bring him. Good luck!
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter
1 (16 ounce) package large marshmallows
2 cups popped popcorn
1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter and marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows are softened.
Add popcorn and candies; mix until evenly coated with marshmallows.
Allow to cool enough to touch. Grease hands with butter and form into balls.

If you know what his favorite treat is, that is what I would make for him. Guys don't really care what it tastes like, they are just thrilled that we did. My Mother always told me the way to a mans heart is through his stomach.
