Funny, that's how I thought it happened...

Look at the Greeks. They created a God for everything that they could not explain. Mankind needs questions to be answered because mysteries cause instability. It's just easier to create a God than it is to answer the meaning of life.

It's possible that we might (although we would not exist without Him). But everything about that "god" would probably have a lot of holes in it. But since you question starts with IF and since God definitely does exist we don't have to worry about taht.

well, he has. From the beginning of time, an endless variety of gods. From the gods of the ancient, the gods of the sumerians, babylonians, egyptians, greeks, romans, indians, the list goes on and on right back to when the first protohuman wondered where we go when we die and why the sun and moon move and the land seems to go in cycles from summer to winter. How do you explain these things when you have no rational explanations and knowledge? God(s).

The right question would be 'why is my god the correct one?'

Man wouldn't exist to create one. Nice try though.

You seem to have a hard time distinguishing between objective reality and subjective perception.
If you died, would the whole world cease to exist?

That's exactly how it happened... man NEEDED a being that is greater than himself, some being to whom to ascribe blame and credit. Thus, god.... gods... beings greater than ourselves.

Look at Greek Mythology and all the other mythologies... everyone can agree that the gods in those books aren't and weren't real, yet we cling to the Christian god like a baby blanket.

To me, they're all the same... and man-made.

It's a big paradox.

It depends wether you believe or not.

If so, no. He created us.

If not, of course, that's the only logical explanation.
