Any piercing hurts, but if you take good care of it and let it heal properly, it wont hurt too bad.

I hope you do mean doing it your self... But to me it didn't hurt. A lot of people think that it doesn't, but different people have different pain tolerances. I've had mine done for about 1 1/2 years now, and you DO need to make sure that you keep it clean for at least 2 months and then just clean it every now and then until it's all the way healed (your piercer will tell you how long that will be, and all the other extras that you need to know.) Another thing is though, if for any reason it gets infected, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT, The infection can possibly get trapped under the skin and spread. Just keep cleaning and babying it until it's good again and if you want to take it out, then take it out then. I hope that that helps.

I had a labret piercing done last year and it didn't hurt that much. The worst pain I ever had with it was a couple of weeks after I had it done and I bit the back of the stud, which hurt like hell.
If you look after it properly, it shouldn't hurt any more than any other piercings.

Yes. As with any part of your body where the coloration is pinker, your lips have more nerve endings. The piercing itself isn't the hard part though--leaving it alone so it can heal, is! Since it is so easy to play with all day, it can take longer than necessary to heal.

preferably piercings are to be done on area's were there are cartillage like the ears or the nose ....
lips, bellybutton, eyebrows are all clinging simply to skin ...
honestly it won't hurt more then a normal piercing ... although since ther's saliva you'll have to clean more offen to prevent bacteria ...
just be carefull, the reason skin piercings aren't recommended is because they are easier to rip off.

im sure it does.. but only for a second... just like piercing your ear...... but if its done wrong im sure it will hurt like crazy...... i have lots of friends who did it them selves and when they did it right they said it hurt for only a minute and it was all fine.. personally i would recommend you go to a professional because it wouldnt hurt as much.. but if you know what your doing and you can handle the pain then just do it your own self... i know thats not what you asked but i dont know if you meant doing it yourself ..= )

no, not at all. it takes like 2 seconds. the only part that you can feel is when the needle comes thru the inside of your mouth.
