easy, he inspired the campfire storytellers, the writers, the translators, the transliterators, the interpreters, the monks who copied and made mistakes, the revisionists, and damn near everyone who ever was near a bible.

It all makes perfect sense once you abandon all reason and critical thought.

The early church leaders decided based on certain criteria: 1) the book claimed to be inspired by God, 2) the book lined up with the rest of Scripture as given authority by Jesus, 3) the book was accepted by the first Christian followers who knew Jesus personally and sat under his teaching, 4) the book was written while the first followers were still living and able to testify to its accuracy or inaccuracy.

If you want to know all of the logical and historical arguments for the Bible's accuracy, there are a lot of good sources. Try Josh McDowell's "Evidence that Demands a Verdict."

The primary reason I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God is that I have read and studied it for many years and have tested it's principles, finding it to be true over and over again. When I read the Bible, I gain practical insight and understanding. The Holy Spirit often brings specific Scripture passages to my mind that apply to specific situations in my life. I have found that it is "living and active."

The argument seems to run that the Bible is the Word of God because the Bible says the Bible is the Word of God and if you don't believe it, read the Bible.

99.999% of the Bible is true because all of it can be cross referenced and it all agrees. Some people think that the Bible contradicts itself sometimes, but it is because they can't understand God. The only mistake in the Bible that I know of is one small passage in the bible genealogies that had a mistake in it. If you've read the bible as much as I have, you would realize that it is correct because it explains everything about human behaviour and it all agrees with they way things are.

God inspired the Bible through forty writers.
Inspiration doesn't mean the biblical writer just felt enthusiastic, like the composer of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Nor does it mean the writings are necessarily inspiring to read, like an uplifting poem. The biblical Greek worked for inspiration literally means "God-breathed." Because God breathes out Scripture - because it originates from Him - it is true and inerrant.
Biblical inspiration may be defined as God's superintending of the human authors so that, using their own individual personalities - and even their writing styles - they composed and recorded without error His revelation to humankind in the words of the original autographs. In other words, the original documents of the their own personalities and literary talents, wrote under the control and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the result being a perfect and errorless recording of the exact message God desired to give to man.
Hence, the writers of Scripture were not mere writing machines. God did not use them like keys on a typewriter to mechanically reproduce His message. Nor did He dictate the words, page by page. The biblical evidence makes it clear that each writer had a style of his own. (Isaiah had a powerful literary style; Jeremiah had a mournful tone; Luke's style had medical overtones; and John was very simple in his approach.) The Holy Spirit infallibly worked through each of these writers, through their individual styles, to in errantly communicate His message to humankind.

I know that God led me to the Bible I use. What is in the Bible is for those of The True Christian Faith. Only those open to the leading of The Holy Spirit will find what God has for them there.

1) If the Church is truly the Body of Christ, the Body filled with the Holy Spirit at the first Pentecost, then she is indeed the final arbiter of Holy Scripture.

2) The very-same Body, the Church, gave us the Bible, not the other way around.

3) Holy Scripture is the Property of the Church, the Body of Christ. And, if that Body is who we believe it to be, the Second Incarnation - we believe that what She has done is by the power of that same Holy Spirit.

God's spirit bears witness with my spirit that His Word (Bible) is true. It's something that can't be explained. If you're not sure, ask God to confirm that His Word is true to you. When you truly repent and ask Jesus Christ (Son of God) to come into your heart and you are sincere, then Jesus comes and lives on the inside of you (Born Again). So God's spirit comes and testifies that His word is True.

Tell me if you can, how anyone else could write consistently over 6 thousand years and retain the same information throughout.
It is true however that there were not just 1 man, but a council that edited out many of the books. Some still exist, but most agree that they aren't consistent. What we have is sufficient to get his meanings across. Shows far reaching thinking, don't you agree?

Jesus's followers aparently, though most people believe it was written years after he (suposedly) died, so the information is very inaccurate, and yet people place their faith in it, despite the fact that they could well be following the word of people that wrote the bible with no other motive but to control what people did. You believe what you are told? Why? Why would God create people, give the free will? If he's all knowing then he knows which people are going to end up in hell so why create them? A very bizzare thing to do no? It just doesnt make any sense to me.....if thats what God is like then he's very unjust and I don't want to be on his team....
