my seat belt is 1 that slides back n forth when u get n and out of your car...its stuck half way up to wera it doesnt move...just makes a clicking noise..the motor to it is running ..i can hear it...any advice on getting it back on the track would be helpfull..thx much...peace dave

Are you saying you have the automatic ones that slide on the door.I am afraid that these are not servicable .parts are now absolete the cheapest way for you to repair would get a normal seat belt assembly from a salvage yard..

You can disconnect the electric part and manually move the belt buckle on top to the driving position and then latch and un latch it manually when you are getting in and out. The cable is probably broken or jammed, or the drive gear striped. It is not worth the $$$ to replace the electric part unless your Escort is very low mileage, in cherry condition and you plan to keep it a long time.
