For everyone that took a stab at my seemingly elusive question, that some found too vague to answer properly, I have decided to go ahead and repost (yet again) and give the answer that I had in mind. And then, just receive comments in regard to the asnwer.

So here we go... I started off by saying that the answer to this question, in -my- opinion, is a deep seated pattern in life. I went on to say that I felt that the asnwer to this question gives a lot of insight into the way individuals act as they age (whether that be positively or not). And lastly, I feel that this pattern, while basic and simple, is still a bit elusive to our minds because we take it a bit for granted.

Some of the answers I received were the following::
Think, Love, Learn, Exist, etc.

And I must say that those are all VERY good answers. They truly ARE all things that we do from day 1. Yet, in my opinion, the answer I have in my mind almost explains a bit more about those answers above.

So let me get to it then... The one thing that I believe we do from the day we are born is:: We Seek Love & Acceptance!

From Day 1, as newborms, and for the rest of our lives, we are on a never ending path to Find Love & Acceptance. Everything we think, everything we do, and everything we say are all rooted in Finding Love & Acceptance in our life.

And, in my opinion, the LACK of that love & acceptance will bring individuals who we see as "living a life of evil ways" to find a new way of finding that Love & Acceptance that they have desired since Day 1!

What does everyone think?

To those that say that these are physical, I'd like to explain why I do not believe that they are...

We, as humans, place a lot of relation of the non-physical to the physical. While Love and Acceptance do, both, harbor distinct physical sensations and manifestations, these two "feelings," in it and of themselves, are purely non-physical.

In other words, they are completely intangible, yet we relate to them as being physical due to those distinct physical manifestations they cause.

I agree we all seek love and acceptance from Day 1. Further, I believe the reason for this is separation anxiety. Separation from God. Deep in our soul we know what it was like to be with God and feel true unconditional love. We spend our lives on earth trying to recapture that "first love" and the thirst is never quenched.

Great Stuff, Sir Thomas, Simply Great Stuff! Although I miss the Koran connection, since it is my understanding that the Koran (the spelling that Yahoo Answers spell check seems to approve of) was written Circa 700 AD, (CE if you prefer, as the Jehovah's Witnesses like to use) Apostle Paul's writings teach a great deal about what it means to be a Christian. Giving thanks is very important. Although I would never propose to sit in judgement of that for which you need to ask forgiveness. Only you and God know what you may or may not have done that is sinful. But it would not hurt anyone to be a little more grateful each and every day for EVERYTHING. Even the things that happen that we do not understand. Perhaps Especially those things. because the things that challenge us the most are the things that teach us the most. A scientist learns nothing from the experiment that works. Gratitude is said to be the healthiest of all human emotions.

Buddhism calls, what you're roughly tossing around, the grasping and attachments to things we perceive (falsely) will bring us happiness, which only ultimately bring suffering. This reaction to self-cherishment is what brings suffering... grasping and attachment, holding on too hard to the object we perceive will bring us happiness and going completely nuts if something happens that puts a dent in that self-cherishment or the object we're thinking is "good" and brings happiness.

At this point, when we realize that this harsh ping-ponging back and forth between aversion and attachments with the subsequent actions we execute to keep things where we want them, is where the suffering comes from, we can begin to work on cultivating a mind that reduces the suffering by reducing our aversions and clinging.

Just a Buddhist commentary.

I think you're right, even if that's not the sole thing we do. We also give love and acceptance. If we didn't, then no one would recieve the l&a, and everyone would be on a certain path towards the "evil path". But people in general are not so good in giving it. The l&a, that is.

I agree, in part. I would not characterize love and acceptance as non-physical things, except in a very limited sense, since all of the manifestations are of course physical actions.

Unfortunately for your theory, seeking love and acceptance is very physical. It is a product of our instinct (driven by chemicals in our brains) to survive.

You are very right that this is the main basis of our existence, but I don't think you can call it non-physical.

I disagree. Thought, loving, learning, existence, seeking (your answer) are all manifestations of the very physical neurochemical processes within our bodies. To call them non-physical is simply false.

I agree with you on this but some people who have love and acceptance turn out worse than the people we expect to be criminals

Be happy and avoid suffering, everything every human does is done to pursue those two primary goals. Even when you do something for someone else? It makes you happy to make them happy.
