Why does someone at work want to say things about me that are not true? On top of saying, smearing, he wants to write it down on paper.

Is he vicious or crazy?

He may be both.

Check out the Personality Disorders:

http://mentalhelp.net/poc/center_index.php?id=8

Estimates are that 10-15% of the US Population is afflicted to some degree with a personality disorder.

If this person has a personality disorder, you need to understand that he cannot/will not change. You need to act accordingly. As this is a workplace problem, I would suggest that you document, document, document what he says and does, and if your company has a Human Relations department, contact them with your documentation and ask them to do something about this individual.

Good luck.

regardless of whether or not he's vicious and/or crazy, DOCUMENT AND REPORT his behavior to a supervisor. Keep what he writes so you have proof!

Libel and slander. Do you not have someone in personnel that you can make a formal complaint to? You also can get an attorney to draw up a formal cease and desist order and serve it to him.

sounds like he is ignorant and has personality problems, and lack of self esteem. Anyone with half a brain will realize it and only think of what a jerk he is being for doing this to you!

I wouldn't let it get to you he probably has bigger issues and count yourself lucky that you are not a freind of his.
