just go to http://www.beapilot.com and follow the link. You can alsoview FAQs and print out a valuable discount certificate and take a ride before you learn to fly. Good luck!

If you have intentions of obtaining your private pilot's license for a career, then probably the first thing you should do is check out the requirements listed at http://www.faa.gov . I would also recommend getting a flight physical to assure you can obtain said license before spending thousands on the lessons, instructor time, fuel etc.
If you just want to fly for enjoyment, you can take all the lessons you want without the physical. also, there is a 'student pilot license' rating which limits where and when you can fly, but is less demanding than the private rating.
Whichever way you choose, have fun and good luck.

You have to complete an FAA-approved flight school. This includes ground school, flying lessons with a certified flight instructor, practical solo flying, a written test and a practical (flight) test. You also have to complete a medical exam. You should go out to your local airport where you will probably find a flight school or two and have a talk with the staff there. Maybe your local community college offers a certified ground school at bargain rates. Mine does.
Also, check out Plane and Pilot magazine for their "Learn to Fly" kit. Be forewarned, lessons and flying in general are both very expensive.

Go out to a small airport and take the required ground school and flying lessons. The small airports all seem to have a few flight instructors who can teach the important things. Have you ever heard of the Oshkosh Wisconsin Annual Fly In ? check it out there will be instructors by the dozen there.

Contact your local airport or look in the phone book under flight training. You are looking for a flight training center which hopefully trains as a part 141. This is a much stronger learning environment, but most small training centers are a part 61. A flight instructor there can answer any further questions you have.

HEY! I learned to fly there. Just go on over to Wisconsin Aviation over on US 51, a few miles north of E. Washington and talk to those guys. The guy who runs Wisconsin Aviation (Grant) used to be my flight instructor, super nice guy. You can get an orientation flight for probably 20-40 bucks and they can discuss details with you.

As far as the process of getting your private pilot rating check out my yahoo 360 blog - i have been writing about just that. I would suggest too that you find a local flight school and go speak with a CFI - you can find a list of flight schools at http://www.beapilot.com/

Hope this helps and have fun!

Find an aero club, attend a ground school, and get your physical before you spend a fat wad of money on the flying portion of the training.

Best of luck to you....flying is the ultimate high!

go to your local airport and find a flight school. i would highly recomend tha you go to your comunity col. to the continuing education dept, and see if they have a ground school for pilots. it will save you a lot of money, and you will really learn what you need to take your writen exam. at the flight school you can talk to a flight intructor and he/she will tell you every thing that you will have to do to get your private pilot. or you can look it up in the FAR at www.faa.gov.....on the home page go to REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES.... (FAR)hit the eletronic code of federal regulations....hit the 60-139 part. and go to 61.1 to 61.431 under there you can look at 61.3 and 61.83,61.87,61.93 61.102 - 61.117 good luck and have fun!!
