Oh my. For starters...

1. God does not need to be an intellectual. He is God. He is omnipotent and almighty. I think that just about covers the intellectual argument.
2. Jesus sought after all of us. The poor and hurting were often the cast offs in the society in which He lived. He set the example for how we are to treat each other.
3. God CAN be worshipped with the mind..and the spirit...and the heart. Try it - you will like it - I promise.
4. God IS a mystery. The Bible helps us to understand God. If we read it, we learn about God because it is His Word to us.
5. The Bible does not need to explain itself. It is what it is. It is the Word of God. You are you. Do you need to be explained? You are who you are. The Bible is the Word of God. Plain and simple. Read it. Read it again...and again...Each time you do, you will learn something new about God. That's the cool thing about the Bible. God will reveal something different to you each time you read it. Now how many books written by man can you say THAT about? I have read the Bible over and over my entire life and each time I am enriched and learn something else.
6. You are right. There IS no excuse for any man in God's eyes. We are all sinners and all worthy of punishment. The Bible says that God hates sin and that sin cannot enter into Heaven. Since we humans are sinners, and as such, are incapable of entering Heaven because no matter how good a person we are, we are going to sin, then God gave us His Son Jesus Christ to be the living sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sin. God took on the humilation and shame of becoming a human, when He is GOD, the Creator, and he allowed his created beings to mock, kick, spit upon and nail His Son to a cross and to die a horrible death, when He could have called His angels to save Him and when He could have destroyed the people who were hurting Him. WHY did He do this? Because there IS no excuse for any man in God's eyes, and God loves EACH one of us SO much that He paid the cost for our sin that we so rightfully deserve to pay instead. If we thank God for this gift and accept Jesus, the resurrected Son of God into our hearts, and strive to live by the Bible, which is our GUIDEBOOK for living, then we will live forever with God in Heaven when we die.

Read the Bible. Read it over and over again. Read it and then pray to God about it. Don't mock God while you read and pray. God knows your heart and He will be silent. If you truly want to learn something and understand the Bible, be sincere. God is waiting for you.

I agree with the first guy-it was written like 2000 years ago, and by people who understood nothing of the natural world..And they made up a story just like many many other cultures did in that time and before. The bible is a long, cruel ridden and nonsensical piece of garbage that managed to stay and corrupt so many minds, even in this day and age.

The Bible can be seen as a text book. It is an instruction manual wherby we can live a perfect life. A good life. Imagine we were to live on the principles of Jesus. Imagine that every person loved one another...WOW!!!

If the Bible were a textbook, it could cost $200 and only be available at like two bookstores.

"God is not an intellectual"? Well there you go, one reason why I don't worship your God. Any God that doesn't consider intelligence and reason virtues isn't going to get the time of day from me.
