Teen-aged pregnancy, does anyone else find this disturbing?

You know it really angers me at the number of teens that are intentionally trying to get pregnant by either tricking a guy into it, or just being selfish and thinking a baby would be fun and not thinking of how much of a responsibility it is to raise a child. I mean look at all of the couples who would love to have a child and then you see all of these irresponsible young teen-aged and even pre teen-aged girls getting pregnant because of entrapment or negligence. This really disturbs me because I don't think that people who are having kids for all the wrong reasons should be blessed like they are and the people who do deserve a child can't have one. Ugh this really does annoy the hell out of me

I have already been blessed with a beautiful baby who I love with all of my heart. But what I find sickening is when these KIDS think that it is a fun cute game of house to go and get pregnant. I seen somewhere that a 17 year old girl intentionally got pregnant, I mean they were planning this and her and her boyfriend had only been together for two months. I mean com on, Better yet what kind of life can a 13,14 or 15 year old CHILD offer another child you can't drive nor get a job so you have to rely on mommy and daddy to help support the child that was made for all of the wrong reasons.

I totally feel where you are coming from on this, it really bothers me too when these girls are so quick to spread their legs to create a baby when they themselves are just babies. I commend the mothers that did get pregnant by accident and are wonderful mothers who provide for their kid(s). But what really turns my stomach is when my husbands tax dollars go to those who got pregnant to try to trap a guy and it backfired in their face and now they are living off of the government, if you ask me I think the government makes it far too easy for some of these girls to just go out and get pregnant. I was a teen aged mother but was also ready to have a child in every aspect. My fiance' makes more than enough money for his family where I don't even have to work he wants me to be a stay at home mother which I love. I commend all those girls who are doing this on their own or with the father by there sides and are doing the best they can. And to the ones who are so young and think getting pregnant will be fun or just be something you can dress up and play with why don't you take a look at how much everything is going to cost and pretty much times that by 18 years to get a rough estimate of how much you are going to need.

I have mixed feelings on this subject. I am 18. I graduated from high school a year early. Half of my graduating class was pregnant. I got married 3 days after graduation. I am in college and my husband and I have been trying to have a baby since before we were married. In the town I live in there are girls in the JR. High pregnant. THat is just crazy. I think my opionion varies from person to person. Some of these girls have no clue what it takes to raise a child. For example my friend beth just had a baby in Nov. she just turned 17. She smokes pot and drinks while she is breast feeding. She doesnt put her baby in a car seat. Then there is my friend Tiffany who is 17 and just had a baby and she is doing everything greatly plus going to school (Beth dropped out.) In my town there is a 12 year old girl who just had twins. and the worst part is she willingly got pregnant by a 26 year old guy.

Its just not fair... My husband and I want a child more then anything and have the funds and the means of raising a child. But all these girls that either don't want there baby or can't take care of a child can get pregnant.

I think it depends of the intellingence of the the girl and the supporrt of the people around her.

well when i got pregnant i was 18 a senior in high school and was with the guy i lost my virginity to, We were wanting a child engaged to be married you know the whole 9 yards and it upsets me to hear you say this. Its no ones fault if you cannot have a child so dont get mad because others can. Even if they are young teens can be great parents, i have a 2 year old son and i take care of him by myself, you say its the teens.....My sons father is 25 years old and does nothing for him! Dont sit here and say that its all on the young teens and pre teens i have seen 30 year old Crack Who*es that are horrible mothers. I am a great mother i support my child and take care of him on my own with no government assistance so how dare you say anything about the type of person or the way they are just because of their age, I have a friend that is 19 has a 19 month old and a 4 month old and he is doing great with the both of them on her own! Age isnt anything but a number it has to do with the type of person they are their family and the way they were raised!

It is really disturbing, However I myself got pregnant at 15. It was stupid, and I didn't think it would happen to me, I had a police officer for a father and a wonderful mother, It had nothing to do with the way I was raised, I was just trying to be bad. I never done anything bad and I was pushed by my BF. I gave my son up for adoption though, I knew I was not ready for a child. I completly understand what you mean, My brother in law is 20 and his GF who is 15 got pregnant , had their baby and 3 months later got pregnant again, Its amazing how that works. (not) But the whole thing is happening a lot lately, People are having kids that do not need kids!!

yes it is pretty bad. This yahoo question website is good but the pregnancy questions and ages of the kids asking the questions should be cut in half if parents would help educate their children on sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancies instead of giving them a computer with internet access and not watching out for them. I feel for the unborn children. Most these kids will have an abortion or end up being a horrible parent. Its not all the girls though because the guy is as much responsible because he wouldn't have to worry about being tricked if he would use protection or wait till he is older for sex.

I think that teenage pregnancy whether planned or not is a shame. For someone to plan well that is pitiful and the other ones should be on birth control if they are having sex. I think it is so pathetic to see a little teenage girl pregnant or packing a baby around like it is something great when it is not. It is a shame and that is why people stares and talks about it. People should be watching their teenagers better or if their not going to then they should put them on birth control so they won't get pregnant. If people would use common sense then so many wouldn't get pregnant.

I definitely understand where you are coming from.

So many married couples out there long for a baby of their own, when these teens go out there and have unprotected s*x and think that showing their baby off in Wal-Mart is cute! It's sick!

But the best thing we can do, is to raise our children to be responsible, so they won't end up doing the same things we hate to see in this world today.

Me too!

I get so angry when I hear of people doing this. I have a friend who has been trying to get pregnant for all the right reasons, for over a year now. The one time she was sucessful, she had a miscarriage. Yet someone she knows got pregnant, had her baby, but doesn't look after him, and is now pregnant again- its so upsetting, because she is getting pregnant and having babiues like there is nothing to it, and not even wanting the children, and my friend is still childless.

Keep in mind, this was pretty much standard practice up until the latter half of the last century. (albeit usually the kids got married young). I guess nowadays getting pregnant young on purpose and just for kicks points to mental or issues at home.

I think if they are graduated from high school and are married it is fine ...but i agree on them thinking its like playing house or trapping a guy or vise versa. Also i think it is a big reason on why we have such bratty spoiled kids these days...they just learn to get free handouts from the government or their mommy and daddy just give them money. it is sad. But i do believe that god has his reason for every person and those who can not have babies just wernt meant to have them
