The US is in such a mess and at war...
Why would Canada even want it??

A whole bunch of reasons:
1) We don't need the illegal immigrants.
2) We have enough problems with English and French - why add spanish?
3) Very little good skating or skidooing
4) Beer is too watery.
5) We don't understand the difference between Republican and Democrat (all looks the same)
6) Can't afford the health care
7) Already send most of our old folks down to Florida
8) US has that wierd miles and gallons thing happening.
9) US doesn't have coloured money
and the biggest reason is.....
10) Canada is just too polite.

Canada is America's hat. Canada has a population of 30 million, USA has 300 million people. Attrition alone, we would overwhelmingly destroy Canada. U.S.A. has better weapons, more money and a much larger economy. It would be like a Dog v.s. a cricket, no contest.

My Guess is that Samantha Bee talked them out of it. The reason that they tried it in the first place is that they were losing a whole industry to the dreaded US of A. Comedians and demi-celebrities! However the plot was uncovered and thwarted by the courageous, if ever so polite, Miss Bee.

They might suddenly find themselves in a "Bit Off More Than We Can Chew" when facing 5 times their population and the world's strongest military, and a bunch of crazy people with guns.

Canada is big and beautiful enough already,
Canada has all the resources already, (oil, wood, metals, fresh water, quality pharmaceuticals, etc, etc, even diamonds too !)
Canada's economy is more resilient and doing better and
the Cdn dollar is growing not shrinking,
and Canadians are welcome all around the world, (why ruin our passports) and we don't need America's problems.

Canada has no military power and they are basically part of the USA anyway.
