If your biggest criteria is viewing angle then you will have to go with Plasma as they have better viewing angles than most LCD HDTV's. If you do go with plasma make sure you are getting one that is HD resolution and not ED resolution. ED resolution plasmas are cheaper because although they can display an HD picture they don't have the HD resolution.

Plasma has the best viewing angle.

A Toshiba 42"/50" Plasma, or a Pioner Elite Plasma.

For LCDs go with Sony or Toshiba.

Depends on what ur into. LCDs are great with video games and photography while Plasma is works best with sports and action movies.

there's no clear-cut winner, given the differences in brand quality, age of products, lighting conditions, etc. the best judge would be your own eyes and depth of your wallet, and make sure the set has all the available input ports.
