I am watching this show 10 years younger and there is a divorced mother on here. Once she got divorced she moved from Oklahoma to LA and took her daughter with her. Her daughter hated life in LA and being away from friends and family and was going to only get worse and harm herself if kept in LA so her mom sent her back home to Oklahoma I guess to live with the father. The mother is still in LA and has no job so it is not like she has to stay there she could move back to Oklahoma but says she only likes the city life. When asked why the city would stop her from moving back to see her daughter she said it is not like she is still attached with an amibical cord. Why would a mother do such a thing? It seems to me like she doesn't love her daughter.

Brownie, it's a TELEVISION show, and even if it's so-called "reality" TV, you have to remember that it's heavily edited and you do not know if everything that is shown is put in context with what is really going on. You do not know all of the issues that may be involved, or if there are other factors in this mother's decision that aren't shown or talked about.

On the face of it, I agree that it sounds as if the mother is a first-rate jerk. I wouldn't want my daughter to be unhappy and I wouldn't want to be separated from her. But that's me and that's my situation and I would hate to have someone judge me on the basis of heavily-edited one hour TV show. TV editors have lots of choices on how they can put together the footage that they've filmed, and you know it's in their best interests to make it controversial so people will talk about it and want to watch it.

Maybe the mother is complete witch, but I think it might be best to give her the benefit of the doubt and understand that the show doesn't present anything near the whole story.

It sounds to me as if the mother is a very selfish person who puts her own needs in front of her child's and in my opinion, that is not the definition of a mother at all. No real mother would do that but unfortunately, a lot of people who shouldn't have children do and it's the children who pay the consequences.

It's because she is selfish and immature, thinking only of herself and what SHE wants. Personally, I think the daughter is better off without her as a role model in her life.
