The local dealers and electronic installers say there is not a way to put cruise control on the new 2007 Nissan Sentra unless it is an S or SL model. It can be ordered as an option on both of those, but not the base model.

I check two install shops. Neither could do it and tried to tell me that there are not any kits on the market yet, but maybe in two to five months there will be.

There are universal cruise controls out there. Some are for older cars and use vacuum to regulate the cruise. The ones for newer cars are all electronic. My brother put one in his Kia. It is not hard to do. Look at Advance Auto Parts, Auto-Zone and such stores.

Universal Cruise Control Kit

This car has an electronic throttle so no aftermarket kits will help you. Cruise control on nissans with electronic throttles (all current models) is controlled by the ecu and activated with a cruise request switch on a CAN network, and works hand in hand with the abs & traction control system - which the base model lacks. So you'd have to put in all those missing parts just to get crusie control when in reality cruise control is just merely a byproduct of all above mentioned systems.

If the dealer won't do it then I would try a reputable shop and you might want to ask the Nissan dealer if warranty would be effected on car before you went ahead and installed it. Don't give them an excuse later when you might have warranty issues, they'll use it as a loop hole.
