I have found a medical transcribing course at a local technical school. The cost for a 6 month course is 6,995 , books are provided along with a person who will assist you with your course.

You may need to ask potential employers in your area.

Most courses are just that, courses, and then later when you graduate or finish up you have to find your own job. A lot of the medical transcription jobs have been shipped to India because they are low paying for USA (but are high income to people in India)

Sounds pretty expensive. I am a medical transcriptionist, self-taught. I believe some people are "natural spellers" and if you are, some reference books can help you with the medical terms.

Note: Medical transcriptionists may be going the way of the dinosaur anyway, because many doctors' offices are using electronic medical records.
