Microsoft is forcing consumers to use VISTA by removing XP.

XP is no longer even offered with new computers and get this, it now costs extra to get XP with your new computer if they will even allow it..

I know..IT IS A SIX YEAR OLD OPERATING SYSTEM...but that six year old system has finally delivered what Microsoft promised six years ago so why switch? Well here's why..

Because Microsoft needs to sell the 43 million + copies of VISTA they already have made to artificially maintain their stock value and they feel this is ok.

Screw the consumer again.

They have released a cloned copy of an established Apple product...

VISTA

Why? If I wanted an APPLE system I would have bought one one..now I just might after this mess...

Why force this system on us if it'sa so good?

Does Microsoft know it has problems?
(YES THEY KNOW)

Most of you are right..but VISTA..and I do already have a new computer running VISTA..has been downloading security updates now for 26 minutes

On a supposed high speed internet connection.. (VIA Cable)

So far there's 81 updates you would think that would have been included prior to release..

I am just very unhappy with this and I am returning the computer today.

They haven't forced me to upgrade - I have two Win 2000 Pro (yes, six year old OS's) computers that I am not upgrading.

I am not sure they are forcing it on us. They are pushing it hard, yes. I can purcahse any new PC without Vista and not pay any more or any less.

As an IT person, I am just not ready to make the jump to Vista and have made it clear to users that they need not make that jump either.

By the time service pack 2 comes out for Vista it may be a great product, of course by then Microsoft will be designing the next great operating system.

Your not being forced to change. In fact it was announced the other day that XP will be supported till 2014. By that time most of todays computers will be ready for the junk heap.

Because Microsoft is afraid that Mac OS X Leopard is going to beat them. Also microsoft can't sell their product because it sucks so they have to force it on people.

If it comes with the system then take it. It does work fine if the system was designed for it. If you would rather spend more money on a MAC then go for it.
