one of the reasons why people do this is to make themselves feel better because they have a low self-esteem. they aren't ok or happy with how their life is going and if they see someone who is trying to have a good life that bothers them. i know this kind of sounds crazy but it is true. some people's lives consist of just doing whatever they can to make someone else miserable. don't pay any attention to them. they are not worth your time. just go on and ignore them. they are going to be the ones with all kinds of problems and you are going to be the one with your life together. there are always going to be people like this no matter where you go. just keep a positive attitude and outlook and act like they are not even there. hope this helps. good luck.

It's all about power. Countries and powere hungary leaders ars and have been for thousands of years kicking *** and taking no prisoners and it (I hate this way too over used expression) trickles down from countries, to states, to counties, to towns and cites, to teams and people. Even trash talking is a perceived phsychological advantage for battle or competition by the talker. But in real life, people do whatever it takes to thrust themselves further up their own ladder of success and many never ever realize what **** little it means to the people they step on the backs of to get to their own percieved top. See it's the gentle giants (I call them) the people who without evil or that quite vindictive nature who just plug along giving their whole life and diligently working toward their own goals without needing the rush of dismantling someone elses life to feel better about themselves. these gentile giants are the real winners.

Because those kind of people have low (or no) self-esteem and are miserable. They want everyone else to be miserable along with them. Misery loves company as they say. What goes around, comes around is another saying so those losers who constantly bring others down will get theirs sooner or later - sooner I hope.

People with low self-esteem, or just being unhappy all the time, tend to drag other people down to their level or lower so that they can feel a sense of superiority over others.

I'm not sure if I agree with the previous posts. Their logic is sound, but flawed. People tear down other people because it is instilled in our society to be equal. Take a braggart, or a cocky person, for example. This person is usually the first to be torn down by others, mainly because the others eith er 1) Feel threatened by him/her, or 2) They feel that person believes he/she is better than the others. It's a crazy equilibrium that we often overlook because it is instilled in our day to day lives!

To make themselves feel more important or sound like they are important. To bring others down is how they feel in control, they are typically a very insecure person and have to make others seem worse than they are to make themselves feel better. It is a sad situation.

The only people who do that to others are insecure individuals who try to make themselves feel larger by trying to make others feel small.
Avoid people like this if you can.
